There are two layouts here. The 26’x16’ G scale layout in the barn behind the residence depicts a European mountain village circa 1950. Most of the village structures have interior details and lights. The 8’ tall mountain features a cog railway line, an aerial tram to a ski area, and real water in the mountain stream. There are 2 running loops and 3 shuttles that run continuously. This large layout is actually semi-portable! It been dismantled and shipped to Charleston as a hotel Christmas display more than 15 times; it takes 3 full days to re-assemble.
The 20’ x 12’ O scale 3 rail layout also has two 12’ x 3’ wings. It is in a room over the carport in a different building. It depicts commercial and industrial scenes inspired by the owner’s memories of his childhood in New Jersey. This layout is loaded with vehicles, people, and small urban and suburban scenes.
These two layouts are both packed with interesting details and train action.
